A new feature in the CINDAS LLC Newsletter is highlighting an active author who is writing chapters for the ASMD and/or the HPAD. We currently have over fifteen authors who are writing for CINDAS LLC.

We are pleased to introduce Dhruba Chakrabarti who has just completed a chapter on 7085 aluminum for the ASMD. He received his BS in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Calcutta, India, and then his MS and PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Illinois. After graduation, he worked in research with experience for 14 years at the Steel Authority of India, National Metallurgical Lab in India and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Dhruba joined Alcoa in 1984 at the Alcoa Technical Center in Pennsylvania. While at Alcoa he earned the two highest technical awards - Chairman's Award for 7085 and the Arthur Vining Davis Award for the 7055-T77 team. He has seventeen issued patents and retired from Alcoa as a Technical Fellow. His work on concept-to-flight for development of 7085 plate and forgings is recognized globally in the aerospace industry.
