CINDAS LLC is delighted to announce our new technical editor who recently joined our staff.

Dr. David (Dave) Gildemeister is currently Professor of Practice in Materials Engineering at Purdue University after spending 30 years with Arconic (formerly Alcoa) in a variety of roles in metallurgical process and product engineering, quality, technical and production management, and research and development. 

His career with Arconic spanned seven manufacturing and R&D locations across the US and involved casting, rolling, and extrusion of aerospace and industrial aluminum alloy products.

Dave received his BS in Metallurgical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (1993), his MS in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Florida (2010) and his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (2016). He holds several patents and trade secret awards from Arconic in the area of aluminum ingot casting. His professional interests lie in the physics of manufacturing.  He is a registered professional Engineer (PE) in Metallurgical Engineering, and he has been an active member of TMS for 30 years.   

In addition to professional interests, Dave enjoys all sorts of outdoor pursuits, archery, winemaking, beer brewing, and spending time with his wife and two adult children.
